NORTH SPOKANE LIBRARY – FULL-TIME, EXEMPT
Seeking a business-focused library professional who is creative, values collaboration and teamwork, and most importantly, is committed to providing great public library services. Under supervision of a Library Services Manager, this position has a Business and Career Development focus, connecting entrepreneurs in the community with resources to build their businesses, and assisting library members in furthering their career objectives. This position also has a community engagement focus at Cheney and is responsible for developing partnerships on behalf of the library in that community. Provides reference and readers’ advisory, instructs members in use of library resources and services, and identifies customer service and collection needs.
The current work schedule at North Spokane Library is Tuesday through Saturday, 9:00am to 6:00pm.
SALARY / WAGE
$4,013.57-$5,016.96 per month in six steps, plus benefits including medical, dental, vision, life and long-term disability insurance, Employee Assistance Program; 11 paid holidays; paid vacation and sick leave; and participation in the Public Employees Retirement System.
Master of Library & Information Science or equivalent and the Professional Librarian’s Certificate issued by the Washington State Library (or its predecessor) as required by RCW 27.04.055. One (1) year of experience in business and career development support in a public library and/or related experience preferred. Effective communication skills; read and use English and understand numbers; working knowledge of personal computers, office software, database software and the Internet; ILS experience preferred. Or any equivalent combination of education, training, or experience that ensures satisfactory performance of essential job functions.
